Natalie Mavrota, born in 1994, is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer working on books, murals and everything illustrated in between. Her style is characterized by vibrant colors, textures, and playful forms, while Pepper the dog, is her eternal muse.
She studied graphic design at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. From 2017 to 2020, she worked as part of creative teams as a graphic designer and illustrator (Colonia design, Porto. Faze design studio, Athens).
She then pursued postgraduate studies with a scholarship from Vakalo College and the University of Derby, specializing in illustration and book design. Her postgraduate thesis on Epirus folk songs as an interactive comic, “Over that mountain”, was awarded in the World Illustration Award 2022 competition.
Since 2021, she has been a member of the team “Geography is Pretty Cool”, designing bestselling books published by Dioptra editions and serving as art director for the independent magazine “Poly Cool”. Since 2021, she has also been a guest speaker at Vakalo College as part of the postgraduate program.
